If you’re looking for something to do that includes a little bit of shopping, site seeing and maybe a coffee on a Saturday afternoon, then Utrecht will be well worth your time. There is so much to see and we’re already planning our second outing to explore all the attractions. This time, we took a stroll in Utrecht – and of course, shopping.
Getting to Utrecht is a dream – 17 minutes by train from Amsterdam. Once we arrived, we followed the stream of people towards the exits, took a right and continued walking for about 5 minutes until we found ourselves in Hoog Catharijne shopping centre.
The shopping centre accommodates everyone – both low and high-end retailers. There’s also a market selling food (lots of fish) and clothing.
We continued right of the market until we found ourselves in the centre of Utrecht. Even though the streets were busy with people, it was the most pleasant shopping experience I’ve had in The Netherlands so far.
We spent 4 hours in Utrecht walking, shopping and exploring. If shopping isn’t your thing, enjoy walking through the quaint streets of Utrecht.
