Don’t you wish you could just get out of town, do something different, and better yet… chill with alpacas?
The Alpaca Loom is a win and a definite must do if you’re in Cape Town. Its located in the beautiful farmlands of Paarl, a 45-minute drive from Cape Town city centre. It’s a place everyone will enjoy – adult, child, teen and/or millennial. Afterall, who can say no to an alpaca?
You can pet and feed the alpacas for some small change. They also have 1-hour Barn Tours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The alpacas are extremely cute – no other way to describe them. They friendly and not shy to reach into your bucket for food. It’s a fun, mood-uplifting experience. Our visit to The Alpaca Loom was a lot of fun – I couldn’t stop talking about it!
Enjoy something yummy from the coffee shop and take in the view that will bring you down to earth. The quaint shop also sells a variety of scarves, beanies, gloves, jerseys, blankets and rugs using their own alpaca yarns – if you’re lucky, you might even see their weavers at work.
At the time of our visit, I wasn’t aware, but there aren’t only alpacas roaming around. They also offer camel workshops, riding lessons, walks and carriage drives!
