My heart is so happy! Why do you ask? Because my parents spent a week with us in The Netherlands.
We got to relive the first time feeling and stand in places we would only dream of. Being together in a country abroad has been an incredible blessing and a huge gift.
Seeing them admire every detail around them, be spontaneous, interact with others, enjoy sightseeing and be 20-something all over again was an absolute pleasure. I am forever thankful for the experience and would relive it 1000 times.
We got lost and had fun doing it. We laughed at each other when we tried new things. My Dad did us all proud – walking through the Rijksmuseum is no joke; my Mom was a natural on the bicycle, and both of them were always up for anything. Going on holiday with us gives true meaning to Keeping up with the Jones’s – My fiance did an amazing job keeping up when we couldn’t : ) This holiday we learned more about each other and connected on an amazing level.
So, what did I learn while traveling with my parents?
– Give a man his Friets & Mayo and he will follow you anywhere.
I would highly recommend traveling with your parents, it’s a lot of fun.
Below is a little video of The Jones’s Holiday in Holland… I secretly filmed it.
