Technology, the term has been around since the 1980s. It comes from the Greek word techne, meaning art and craft and the word logos, meaning word and speech. Technology has become a form we can’t live without. It’s a little difficult narrowing it down to one thing. It was originally used to describe applied arts. Now, it’s used to describe advancements and changes that affect the environment around us. One of these advancements, and often scrutinized, is the internet.
The internet was never created to scare us and you don’t need a qualification to use it (even though we believe we might be “out-dated” or too old to learn). The reality is, we have no choice but to accept that the internet is a big part of our lives.
Businesses and individuals are constantly using it for fast communication, education, health, work, travel and even finding hobbies. Each of them are constantly growing – the same way we become wiser as we get older.
In the past, we’d communicate via snail-mail and couriers. Today, we can save time, work faster and not only have the opportunity of growing locally, but internationally too. It has given us the opportunity to stay in touch with loved ones who move abroad. Now, we can find different parts of the world and whatever else you might be looking for, in one place.
Unfortunately, it isn’t a perfect world and bad people will forever be trying to sabotage this powerful tool instead of creating new opportunities, but for the most part, the internet is there to enjoy.
